CMHA is pleased to announce the donation of $700 from the Hartford County Bar Foundation to supply after school snacks for 75 children in the agency’s Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) in New Britain. CMHA’s IOP is a five day a week after school program that treats children who are at risk of institutionalization due to behavioral problems.
“This contribution will allow us to provide more substantial and nutritious food to the children in our program,” said Connie Catrone, CMHA Child & Family Services Central Region Director. “We work with our children and families to promote healthy decision making in all areas of life, and part of our goal is to educate and support youth in making healthy choices around food, eating habits and exercise. This gift helps make it possible for us to achieve that goal.”
