Intensive Assertive
Community Treatment Team (I-ACTT) - New Britain - (860)

IACTT is a 12 bed supervised, congregate site apartment
program. Staff support is provided in the agency-owned apartment
building on a 24 hour a day, 7 day a week basis. The I-ACTT
program consists of 3 two-bedroom apartments, 3 single bedroom
apartments and 3 efficiencies. I-ACTT utilizes on-site intensive
case management services to support individuals in many
areas of daily living, money management, personal care,
cooking, housekeeping and socialization skills. Staff are
available to supervise medications, and to educate clients
about their medications. Residents have the opportunity
to learn effective ways to cope with their feelings and
manage their symptoms while in a supportive environment.
Eventually, as residents gain skills, develop supports,
have increased self-confidence and are able to use resources
in the community, they work with the staff to transition
to a living situation that offers even more independence.
The program is staffed by a Coordinator, Assistant Coordinator,
Nurse, and Residential Counselors. Residents typically remain
in the program for two years.
