The
CAP Extended Day Treatment Program provides comprehensive
clinical services in an intensive five day a week after
school program. These services are designed for at risk
children/youth in transition from residential placements
or hospitalization, or those who are at risk of hospitalization
due to serious behavioral problems, depression, psychosis,
or serious traumatization. To insure developmentally targeted
and appropriate interventions, services are provided in
two tracks; one for children aged 6 to 11, and one for youth
aged 12 to 16.
Services are provided by a multidisciplinary team comprised
of a Child Psychiatrist, Social Workers, Licensed Family Therapists,
Master’s Prepared Clinical case Managers and Mental
Health Workers. These services include individual and group
therapies, family therapy, in-home family therapy as indicated,
medication management, psychiatric and psychosocial assessments,
crisis services, case management and outreach. All services
are planned in a manner that involves the child and family/caregiver.
Program hours are from 10 AM to 6 PM. Services are provided
from 2:30 to 5:30 during the school year and from 10:30 to
1:30 in the summer.
