May 2021 Staff Spotlight

Michelle Jefferson, CRISIS / CIT with New Britain and Bristol Police Departments

At this years' 100 Women of Color Gala, there was only one Michelle Jefferson, LCSW! In recognition of her outstanding contributions to her community and dedication to all the people she serves in her capacity at CMHA, Jefferson was presented with an official declaration from the State of Connecticut. Congratulations Michelle!

Manuel Sandoval, Behavioral Health Counselor

Earlier in May, Manny Sandoval represented CMHA at a 'Trunk or Treat' event held at Smalley Elementary School with the New Britain North Oak NRZ. Along with other community providers and partners, Sandoval decorated vehicles, handed out some treats, and discussed CMHA's programs and services. Thank you Manny!

The Waterbury Spirit Committee

The Waterbury Spirit Committee held a 'Coffee and Vibe for Self-Care' session over zoom for staff across the agency. One of many events in recognition of Mental Health Awareness month, the Waterbury Spirit Committee provided an opportunity for staff to discuss their tips for Self-Care as well as their goals - because we can all do more to take care of ourselves! Thank you Waterbury Spirit Committee!
